The famous dating app Tinder has decided to team up with Spotify. They are doing this to help better connect people based on their music preferences. While I’m not a big fan of Tinder at all, I am a big fan of music. Here’s how this mash-up is going to work. Tinder currently displays profiles of users as you swipe left or right. They show photos, people’s relative locations, ages, names, and bios. They are adding a new feature to showcase on the profiles. The Tinder profiles will also feature what’s known as an “anthem” and a user’s favorite artists based on their Spotify account.
The anthem is like your profile song and it kind of reminds me of the old MySpace song that people could post on their profile. Apparently, Tinder has been trying to make this happen for close to two years and now they can make this a reality.
I have to agree with Tinder CEO Sean Rad on this one. Music is one of those things that just gives people a reason to connect with one another. Music tastes have brought lots of people together and it’s even caused some to want to hook up with each other. However, it’s not just the music. The app needs to be effective as well. In my opinion, Tinder just isn’t that great. I rather use a sext website and get somewhere that leads me to something sexual versus dealing with some bullshit swiping. Not to mention, there are smaller networks with higher quality people that can lead to better dating success. If you decide to use Tinder then you better get some advice from Anikka Albrite.
What do you prefer? I love hearing from people and finding out what they prefer when it comes to dating online. Some people aren’t exactly using these sites just to get laid. I know, it sounds crazy but that’s the truth of the matter. Now, if you decide to skip all that nonsense that most mainstream dating sites require and you want to go straight for a hookup app then you’ve got plenty of choices!
